My Family

Charles Augustus Hansen was born on July 1st. My dad is a very interesting character, and often laughs hysterically at his own jokes. I believe that as children we have all taken on this trait, because I often find that my humor amuses only myself. My dad is a convert to the church and was baptized at age sixteen. He was raised by his grandparents and has a come a long way in the Gospel considering the home that he was born into. He has always been very supportive of each of us in our educational goals and ultimately wants what is best for each of his children.

Charles and Julie Hansen
Julie Merilda Oliver was born on August 7th. My mom is a very wonderful and sweet woman, she has an amazing disposition. My mom has always done whatever is in her power to help and support me. I remember when I was growing up she would always help me with my homework, and was very patient. In fact the measure of patience that my mom has amazes me: she always took the time to show my how to do things. She would enable me by teaching me as a small child to make my own decisions in life. She has an incredibly strong testimony of the Gospel and shows it through the way that she treats others.

Steve and Ming Hansen
Steven Antone Hansen was born on November 17th. My older brother Steven was my idol when I was younger. He set the record at Napa High School for the mile run, and received a full ride scholarship to UC Berkeley. When I was little I wanted to be a runner, because of my older brother Steven. He is a great person, and truly cares about others. I remember throughout high school I would always call Steve for help with my English papers. He would spend hours on the phone helping me or looking over my papers in an e-mail and giving me suggestions. Steven is very talented in mathematics and works for UC Berkeley as a Computer Programmer. He’s married to Ming Tam and they live in Albany, California.
Natalie Hansen
Natalie May Hansen was born on May 2nd. My sister Natalie has always had a ton of energy. Though they’re painful memories I remember that when I would come home after a long day at school during high school she would chase me around the house and try to give me wedgies! I have no idea what possessed her. Natalie is very sweet and caring, and most people refer to her as a fireball because of how energetic she is. Natalie loves life although she’s had more than her share of trials, she never gives up and is a great example to me of remaining happy even through difficult times. Natalie is an Exercise Science major and wants to become a Physical Therapist.

Amy Hansen
Amy Jo Hansen was born on November 4. My sister Amy has always been very honest. Amy and I are only 16 months apart, so when we were little many people would get us confused, because they thought we were twins. Amy is a very hard worker, and is great with little kids. She loves working with little children and also loves to work with people. She’s a psychology major and would like to work with troubled teens someday. Amy also appreciates when other people uphold their values and likes to surround herself with those who share the same values. She looks for true friends, which are the most important to find. Amy is very loyal, and will always do sweet things for me when I’m not feeling well.
Chris Hansen
Christopher Scott Hansen was born on April 26. My little brother Chris is a very empathetic person. He has always been very tender-hearted and has a love for music. Right now he’s learning how to dance hip hop and ballet. He has many hobbies and also enjoys playing the drums, guitar, piano and singing. Chris is a great cook! Last year Chris and I went on a twenty-six mile hike through the West Hills in Portland. The hike took us about 12 hours and we ended up concluding our grand adventure by eating at a little restaurant called “The Cup and Saucer.”
